Care Kits
This kit contains all the products you need to care for your leather furniture and accessories -
Leather Cleaner, Leather Nourisher and Leather Protector. Beautifully presented in a display box, it comes complete with application cloths.
Leather Cleaner
Famous Leather Cleaner removes stains and general grime from finished leather articles. Always test on an inconspicuous area before applying. If the cleaner removes any colour from your leather, do not use. Do not use on suede or unfinished leathers.
Directions:
• Test initially on a small inconspicuous area for dye fastness.
• Remove surface dust.
• Shake bottle well.
• Apply a small amount of Famous Leather Cleaner to cloth and rub gently in a circular motion.
• For ingrained dirt and grime, the use of a soft nail bush is recommended.
• Remove all residue.
• Allow to dry for approximately one hour.
• A second or third application may be required for particularly soiled pieces.
• Apply Famous Leather Nourisher to feed the leather and then Protector to aid in soil resistance and to facilitate easier cleaning in the future.
Leather Nourisher
Famous Leather Nourisher rejuvenates dehydrated leather and maintains the appearance and soft feel of leather. It is not suitable for use on unfinished leathers, suede or nubuck. Always test on an inconspicuous area before applying.
Directions:
• Test for suitability.
• Remove all surface dust from the piece to be treated.
• Shake bottle well.
• Apply small amount on to cloth.
• Apply evenly and sparingly to leather surface.
• Remove surplus residue and allow to dry for approximately one hour.
• Buff gently to required shine.
• Once dry, apply SFamous Leather Protector to protect against stains.
Leather Protector
This product has been designed to protect top coated leathers and coated vinyl products against staining from both oil and water substances. Also, its stain release properties aid in the removal of general dirt and grime. The application of this protector does not negate the need to clean on a regular basis.
Its application creates a window of opportunity for the removal of substances that would normally stain non-protected articles. Famous Leather Protector is blended from a combination of the original ingredients used to make the urethane coating and silicone, and provides a durable, breathable protective shield. It is designed to give durable and invisible protection against common oil and water based spills ensuring that marks, stains and soiling are more readily removed.
This product is not for use on natural leathers, suede, nubuck or pull up leathers.
Directions:
- Ensure the article to be protected is clean and free from loose dirt and dust. Failure to properly clean before application can cause dirt and grime to be locked in.
- Shake bottle well, both before and during the application process.
- Use a clean dry cloth for application. A flannelette nappy is ideal, as it will not scratch.
- Apply a small amount of Famous Leather Protector to the cloth and rub gently into the leather. Apply to one area at a time starting with the back of the chair/couch and finishing up by doing the facings last of all. Pay particular attention to those areas that get the most wear, being the tops of the arms, the seat and the back.
- Allow to dry. You may need to allow up to 3 hours for the protector to be completely dry before buffing. The amount of time the protector will take to dry, will be dependent on the ambient temperature and the amount of relative humidity.
- Buff with clean cloth to shine. Again, the ideal cloth to buff with is a flannelette nappy.
- This Protector will not change the level of shine substantially, so it is safe to use on leathers of different gloss level.
Famous 5 Year Protection Plan for New Furniture
A Famous Protection Plan is a program with two components:
- The application of either Fabric or Leather Protector. The furniture is then protected against most common oil and water-based spills. The application of Protector also ensures easier cleaning of the furniture. The Protector is supplied as an integral part of the Protection Plan.
- Protection against accidental damage for five years. This aspect of the program is administered by SuperShield. The customer fills out the registration portion of their Protection Plan document and posts this to SuperShield free of charge. SuperShield registers the details on their national database and should the customer need to activate their Protection Plan due to accidental damage/staining, all details of their purchase are available. SuperShield then posts out a claim form which the customer completes and returns it to them with their $50 excess payment. SuperShield then raises a Work Order, authorising a technician to go and inspect/repair the stain/damage. It’s that simple!
